Hip Hop Dance Classes in Blackburn
Hip hop is one of the most popular styles for new dancers. With its high energy, great music, its a style kids often already love before they even start class. At Kallista Dance Academy (KDA) in Blackburn South, hip hop classes run from Sub Junior age through to adults, with students joining us from Blackburn, Nunawading, Box Hill and the surrounding suburbs.
Why Learn Hip Hop?
Hip hop builds fitness, rhythm and confidence through fun, high-energy choreography set to popular music. It's a fantastic option for dancers who want a more casual, contemporary style and it's often a natural fit for kids who already love moving to music at home.
Classes for Every Age
Pre-School (ages 3+): our Pre-School dancers build the rhythm and coordination hip hop relies on within their combined Jazz/Ballet/Acro classes, ready to move into dedicated Hip Hop classes as they get a little older.
Primary School: for our younger Sub Junior and Junior dancers, hip hop classes blend in some jazz elements because we believe the full attitude and moves of true hip hop aren't always age-appropriate at this age. Dancers still get the hip hop vibe, with movements suited to their age.
Teens: Inter through Senior dancers move into full hip hop technique and choreography.
Advanced: advanced/adult hip hop classes are a fun, high-energy way to keep fit and learn choreography in a judgement-free space.
