Dance Classes Mont Albert

Mont Albert has produced its share of local sporting talent over the decades, and we love the idea that a Hamilton Street local might discover their own passion, dance, this time, just a short trip from home.

Our formal Child Safe Standards Statement of Commitment isn't just paperwork for us, it shapes how every class is run, and it's often the first thing Mont Albert parents ask about when they're weighing up studios.

Mont Albert has a real village feel, and that's the atmosphere we try to bring to our own studio. Familiar faces, a genuine welcome, and teachers who know your child's name by the second class.

What Blackburn Families Say About KDA:

A wonderful and supportive dance studio, for girls and boys of all shapes and sizes. They ran a superb program during Covid lockdowns in Melbourne with a remote dance concert for the kids to enjoy.” - Sally

Free Trial Class

Come and see for yourself, a free trial class is booked around your child's age and experience, with zero pressure to commit afterwards.

What We Teach

  • Ballet (RAD syllabus): classical technique taught with real warmth, from first pliés in Pre-School to demi-pointe and pointe work for our senior dancers.

  • Jazz: energetic choreography and popular music make this one of our most-loved classes for kids and teens alike.

  • Tap: rhythmic and musical, surprisingly meditative once the pattern clicks, popular with kids and adult beginners alike.

  • Hip Hop: upbeat and expressive, with moves that build both confidence and coordination.

  • Contemporary: a chance to move with real emotion and individuality, building on ballet and jazz technique.

  • Acrobatic Dance (ADA syllabus): strength, flexibility and a genuine sense of achievement with every new skill landed.

  • VCE VET Dance: structured performance assessment for senior students serious about taking dance further.

  • Yoga: Monday and Wednesday classes offering a calmer, non-performance alternative to our high-energy dance styles.
